About Me
It’s easy to get caught up in doing everything “right” and achieving success to avoid facing past trauma. I have been there and I also know the freedom that comes with seeking support, releasing past trauma, and addressing anxiety.
Jacqueline Faison-Harry, PhD
Hi! I’m Dr. Jacqueline. I love R&B/Soul and Soca music. I feel miserable if I even think about staying in the house for a full day; fresh air and sun quickly change my mood. My social life at the moment is 95% playdates for my daughter. Working out and moving my body are my secrets to staying somewhat calm and upbeat.
I work with women who have experienced trauma and have not yet addressed it. Lots of those women battle anxiety. Often my clients come to me at important transition periods in their lives (e.g. first pregnancy, recent loss of a loved one, new romantic relationship, new career). I had my start in early childhood mental health. In working with young children, I often found that the real treatment centered on caregivers and I therefore decided to shift my focus to the adults who are or who eventually become parents. Most of my career has been spent conducting trauma-focused psychotherapy. I am trained in EMDR and I incorporate other evidence-based approaches into my therapeutic work with clients.
